Terms & Conditions

The terms for using the Darul Hikmah Islamic Centre website, online classes and programs: eligibility, fees, refunds, attendance, conduct, recordings and donations.

Darul Hikmah Islamic Centre (DHIC)
Effective date: 18 October 2026

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Welcome to Darul Hikmah Islamic Centre. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, our online classes and programs, and any payments or donations you make to us. By using our website, registering for a program or making a payment, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

In these Terms, "DHIC", "we", "us" and "our" mean Darul Hikmah Islamic Centre. "You" and "student" mean the person using our services, or the parent or guardian registering a child.

1. About our services

DHIC is an online Islamic education institution serving women, girls and children around the world. Our programs are offered through our departments: Darul Qur'an (DQD), Darul Tarteel (DTD), Darul Ilm (DID), Darus Salaam for kids (DSD) and Darul Falah (DFD). Classes are delivered live online, mainly through Google Meet and Google Classroom, and some programs include recordings and course materials.

Our teaching follows the principles of Ahl-us-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah and is primarily based on Hanafi Fiqh. Course content is provided for religious education. It is not a substitute for a personal fatwa, or for legal, medical, financial or psychological advice.

2. Eligibility

  • Our programs are designed for women, girls and children. Adult classes are for sisters only, unless a program page says otherwise.
  • Each program has its own age, language and qualification requirements, listed on its program page. For example, the Aalimah Program is open to sisters aged 15–45 with a minimum of Matric (10 years of schooling).
  • Anyone under 18 may only register with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for the child's registration, payments and conduct.
  • We may decline or cancel a registration that does not meet a program's requirements.

3. Registration and accounts

  • You must provide complete, accurate and current information when you register.
  • Please register only once per program. Duplicate registrations will be removed.
  • Some programs, such as the Aalimah Program, require a dedicated student email address in the student's own name. This email is used for your student profile and Google Classroom access. Family or shared emails are not accepted.
  • Some programs require an interview, orientation session or supporting documents before enrolment is confirmed.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for all activity on your account. Tell us right away at info@darulhikmah.ca if you think your account has been misused.

4. Fees and payment

  • Free programs (such as the Maqraa Program and the live sessions of Learn Qur'an with Seerah) carry no fee. Optional paid packages, where offered, are described on the program page.
  • Fees for paid programs are shown on each program page, in the currency stated there (USD or CAD).
  • Advance payment is required to confirm your seat or slot. Your place is not reserved until payment is received.
  • Payments may be made by the methods we list at the time of registration, which may include PayPal, Interac e-Transfer or bank transfer. You are responsible for any bank, transfer or currency-conversion charges.
  • Seats are limited and are offered in the order that registration and payment are completed.
  • We may change fees for future terms or batches. Changes do not affect a term you have already paid for.

5. Refund policy

  • All payments are final and non-refundable once enrolment is confirmed or classes or sessions have begun, unless a program page states otherwise.
  • For one-on-one programs, no refund is given for any session that has already been conducted.
  • If DHIC cancels a program before it begins, you will receive a full refund or, if you prefer, a credit toward another program.
  • If DHIC must reschedule a class, we will offer a replacement session. Rescheduling is not grounds for a refund.
  • Fees are not transferable to another person without our written approval.

6. Attendance, assessment and certification

  • Students are expected to attend classes regularly and on time.
  • Programs that issue certificates may set a minimum attendance requirement. For the Aalimah Program, the minimum is 75%. Missed lessons must be made up by submitting a class review in PDF format (images are not accepted).
  • Only students who meet attendance and review requirements may sit for exams.
  • Certificates, degrees, Shahadah and Ijazah are issued at DHIC's discretion, based on attendance, assessments and conduct. A student who does not meet the requirements will not receive a certificate.
  • Unapproved absences may lead to disciplinary action. In the Aalimah Program, 15 consecutive days of absence may lead to expulsion without refund.

7. Code of conduct

All students, parents and guardians agree to:

  • Treat teachers, administrators and fellow students with respect and kindness.
  • Uphold honesty and integrity in all academic work.
  • Follow Islamic dress code according to the Sunnah during live classes, where a program requires it.
  • Not harass, bully, threaten or use offensive language toward anyone.
  • Not share class links, login details or private group invitations with anyone outside the class.
  • Not use our platforms to promote products, causes or views unrelated to the class.

We may warn, suspend or remove any student who breaks this code, without refund.

8. Recordings and privacy in class

  • Some sessions are recorded so that eligible students can review them. Recordings are provided only to students enrolled in the relevant package.
  • Students may not record, photograph, screenshot, download or share any live class, recording or classmate's image or voice without written permission from DHIC.
  • Where a program requires cameras to be on, this will be stated on the program page. Sister-only classes are kept private to enrolled sisters and staff.

9. Intellectual property

All course content, including lessons, recordings, notes, PDFs, worksheets, infographics, blog posts, videos, logos and the DHIC name and brand, belongs to Darul Hikmah Islamic Centre or its teachers. It is provided for your personal learning only.

You may share our public social media posts and blog links as they are. You may not copy, sell, re-upload, translate for distribution or teach from our paid course materials without our written permission.

10. Donations and sponsorship

  • Donations and sponsorships (including Student Sponsor, Sadaqah Jariyah monthly giving and Department Sponsor) support DHIC's educational work, including student support, digital classrooms, learning materials and administration.
  • Online donations are processed by LaunchGood. Donations are voluntary and are generally non-refundable. If you made a donation in error, contact us within 7 days at info@darulhikmah.ca and we will review your request.
  • Recurring donations can be cancelled at any time by contacting us or through the payment platform you used.

11. Third-party platforms

Our services rely on third-party platforms such as Google Meet, Google Classroom, Moodle (our student portal), YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, PayPal and LaunchGood. Your use of these platforms is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their availability, content or practices.

12. Technical requirements

You are responsible for having a suitable device, a stable internet connection and access to the platforms your program uses. We are not responsible for classes missed because of technical problems on your side.

13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

  • We work hard to make our teaching accurate and beneficial, but our website and services are provided "as is". We do not guarantee that they will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, DHIC, its teachers, staff and volunteers are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of our services.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the program concerned.

14. Changes to programs and to these Terms

We may update program schedules, teachers, content or formats when needed. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario. We always prefer to resolve concerns first through respectful, direct communication.
